Really Simple Syndication (RSS) files are used for sharing updates frequently without much hassle, and without using E-mail lists. They can be used to see new updates without going to a said site, and seeing if any new updates are worth going to the site to read about. These are best used by sites that have frequently updated material, such as news sites. As they are XML files, they can be hard to interpret without an RSS Reader.
